Trivandrum: The new advertisement campaign by Kerala Tourism gets a pat on the back from none other than Google. Kerala Tourism launched an exclusive advertising campaign for iPhones and iPods, as part of its recent publicity blitzkrieg, which took off with a celebrity studdded evening in London. The mobile-version of the campaign is conceived by MobMe wireless solutions - the mobile governance partner of Kerala Tourism.

Google lauded the campaign in its mobile ads blog, tagging it ‘innovative’. “Kerala Tourism is the first tourism board to connect with inbound travelers via a mobile platform,” says the blog post.

The advertisement campaign makes use of ‘AdMob’ - a mobile advertisement technology. The ‘Your moment is waiting’ video will be streamed through an interactive video interstitial ad format in the mobile advertisement. Along with the video, the ad incorporates social media connectivity through embedded buttons that lead to Kerala Tourism’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages.

M Sivasankar IAS, Director, Kerala Tourism said, "iPhones and iPads have created a global mass following and its users are high-end consumers. Kerala Tourism has realised the potential to reach out directly to its consumers in a big way and with a personal touch. This was the single reason why we decided to go in for a high voltage digital media campaign focusing exclusively on these new age devices."

The campaign is touted to generate more than 2.5 million video-views in a week. It is aimed primarily at the US, UK, France and Germany markets in its initial phase.
